About Us

Our Mission

Project Linus has two goals:

  1. Provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
  2. Provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Our History

The Project Linus Tucson chapter was founded in spring of 1999 by a handful of ladies with the ultimate goal of one day making and delivering 1,000 blankets. That goal has been surpassed. Project Linus Tucson has delivered 96,651 blankets since then. We delivered 6,685 blankets in 2019 alone. As of June 1, 2020, Project Linus has delivered 8,019,901 blankets across the United States.

The blankets that are made in Tucson stay here. We have 33 different recipient locations in Pima County.
